আমরা সবাই অবগত যে, প্রলয়ংকরী বন্যা ইতোমধ্যেই দেশের ৩৮টি জেলায় আঘাত হেনেছে৷ এ বন্যাকে রুখতে সবচেয়ে বেশি প্রয়োজন স্থানীয় জনগণের সম্মিলিত উদ্যোগ৷ বিষয়টিকে বিবেচনায় রেখে তাই ইতোমধ্যে বিভিন্ন স্তরের সংগঠন, চিন্তাশীল ব্যক্তিবর্গ এবং স্বেচছাসেবকদেরকে নিয়ে গঠন করা হয়েছে 'কেন্দ্রীয় দুর্যোগ মোকাবেলা কমিটি', যার লক্ষ্য হচেছ বন্যা কবলিত মানুষের সাহায্যার্থে এগিয়ে আসা৷ আমরা বিশ্বাস করি ব্যক্তির সাথে সাথে সমষ্টিগত উদ্যোগ সেবার পরিধিকে অনেক বাড়িয়ে দিতে পারে৷ ব্যক্তি ও সংগঠনের এ উদ্যোগ তাই দুর্যোগ মোকাবেলায় একদিকে যেমন সরকারের সহায়ক হতে পারে, অন্যদিকে তেমনি পারে জাতীয় ঐক্য প্রতিষ্ঠার আন্দোলনে বড় একটি অর্জন বয়ে আনতে৷

তাই আমরা আশা করছি যে, জাতির এ ক্রান্তিলগ্নে আপনার আন্তরিকতা, নিষ্ঠা, সাধ্য ও সামর্থ্য নিয়ে বন্যাকবলিত মানুষদের দুর্যোগ মোকাবেলায় আপনি আমাদেরই একজন হবেন ৷

Flood victims are suffering throughout the country
Now is the right time to help with our capacity

We are all aware that nearly 38 districts of our country are now affected by a devastating flood. The combined initiatives of the local people can play a vital role to protect the flood affected people. For this, a Central Flood protection Committee has already been formed that consists of different organizations, intellectuals, and volunteers. The ultimate goal of this committee is to serve the flood affected people. We believe that unity is the strength that can make it easier to extend the community's initiatives to the needy and affected areas. This individual and organizational effort initially may help our government to face the disaster, as well as contribute to the movement to form national unity.

Therefore, we hope that you and your organizations will join us and contribute to this devastating situation of the nation to end the suffering of flood victims with sincerity, full capacity and commitment.
